It doesn't matter - as long as you don't do anything in the routine that
depends on functions that other languages don't have.  CL is not really an
ILE language - they just cobbled in a couple of changes (some of which were
screwed up trying to accommodate C) to do the bare minimum.  As such it is
limited to passing parms by reference.  One day they may add VALUE support,
but I'm not holding my breath!!
