As for SQL-RPG enhancements, I would desperately like to see the pre-processor be able to handle the base language specifications. That is, if RPG IV allows local variables, so should the pre-processor. And so on. Anything else makes embedded SQL very difficult to use (which is why the iSeries-toolkit contains SQL CLI code.) As for regular RPG, the current NULL support needs help, as well as OPDESC for all data types. A personal wish is access to the cross reference information. It's be wonderful to be able to programmatically access the object, type and line numbers just like the compiler cross reference. Program metrics would be so much easier to generate... --buck
