Then you should use Rexx! More control structures than you can shake a stick at. Return-code based error handling (although I prefer CL's exception model). All the maths and string functions you could want with standard behaviour. No prompting, so format as you wish (but if you can't remember the syntax how do you code CL commands in RPG IV for system() or QCMDEXC? Hmm!)
