This is a multipart message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] What an amazingly simple question! I don't have time to follow this thru to completion right now but the following command worked on my machine: ADDPFTRG FILE(ROB/QPGMSRC) TRGTIME(*AFTER) TRGEVENT(*INSERT) PGM(ROB/TEST) And the standard trigger data structure contains the member name and everything. I guess I don't see why this wouldn't work. And I've written triggers to record data to a log file before. You will want to verify that any changes with tools like: CODE/400, Turnover change management, etc will record the correct user profile, if that is one of your design fields that you want to store in the log file. Sometimes server programs run under another user profile than what is being processed. One other concern. Do editors replace a record, or the whole file? If they replace the whole file then your drop of water will be lost in the ocean - all records might be recorded as a change. Gee, if I exit editing and say renumber yes... Good thinking. Assuming an User changes the Source Code of a Program, is it possible that a trigger program is auto invoked to record the changes to a user specified database file. Please help.. V.S.
