I know you're right, and that is how we will fix this particular issue, but is it reasonable to have to have a field-specific reasonableness tests on every numeric field? I'm just surprised that we, as a user community, have put up with this all these years without demanding more from the vendor(s). Sorta like how everyone puts up with Windows, I suppose. When I stumbled across this problem again recently, I knew it had been this way 20 years ago, but I felt surely someone had come up with a fix or workaround by now that I just hadn't heard about. The fact that the Enter key works properly and the Tab key doesn't tells me it was a design choice made by the vendor, arbitrarily. No one is going to change operating systems over a minor issue like this, but that doesn't change the fact that it's still a shoddy design.
