Years ago, John, we had to set FRCRATIO to 1 when we had two programs sharing an ODP and the second program needed to be able to see the record written by the first program, because without it, the record was still in the buffer (or something like that). It seems that I heard Kent Milligan or one of the database guys saying (a few releases back) that data management now always reads the buffers first before checking the disk for a record. If so, it doesn't seem that we would need FRCRATIO anymore. Do you remember anything about that? > -----Original Message----- > From: jpcarr@tredegar.com [SMTP:jpcarr@tredegar.com] > Sent: Monday, March 18, 2002 8:34 PM > To: rpg400-l@midrange.com > Subject: RE: RPG ILE Write > > > What real life situation would require someone to play with the FRCRATIO > or > have to do a FEOD? > I have been programming RPG for a few years and can't remember the last > time I had to do a FEOD, > and I have Never played with the FRCRATIO on a PF or LF > > I am not being factious, Just curious. > > As for the problem asked about, Something outside what you're looking has > got to be the problem. > I would say something as simple as wrong object being called(different Lib > or something). > > Nothing that has to do with FRCRATIO or any thing that FEOD would cure I > bet. > > Please post what the problem was when it is solved. > > > JOhn Carr > ------------------------------ > ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************ This message originates from Lincare Holdings Inc.
