Jade, you say your window programs are stand alone programs. Does that mean another program is calling the window program? If so, try creating a record format in your window DDS with the ASSUME keyword and a character field positioned somewhere unobtrusive. In addition, specify KEEP in the calling program's display file. I successfully employed this technique to solve the same problem when my window program was called from another program. Hope that helps. Donald R.
