Well you asked this question on an RPG list, but it is worded like you really wanted an SQL question answered. RPG allows you to read multi-format files, no problem. Typically a multi-format file is either a Logical view built over two or more physical files, or it is a program described file. In any case, it will be no problem for RPG to read it.
