Scott, Boy you got that right. I wrote a service program to do some string manipulation. Center, Upper, Lower, Proper stuff like that. A contractor came to me and asked if there was something on the system to use to center text in a field. I showed him how to create the program with the SP and use the procedures. He looked at me like I was speaking Latin or something. This is a guy who has 15+ years experience. I haven't checked, but I'd bet my next paycheck he wrote his own Center subroutine for the program just so he didn't have to deal with the program creation steps.
