there is a shareware utility named "convert.exe" that will go both from & to
dbase, csv, fixed text. I use it process files in the ifs, but it is a pc
program.
I've never tried executing the .exe in the ifs. The utility has been around
many
years, very stable, fairly well documented-was written by Bruce Guthrie.
Unfortunately don't have web address, and I know it has moved a few times.
