Mike, Here are a few suggestions based on what you have provided so far. First, check out the manual at: http://as400bks.rochester.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/v5r1/ic2924/index.htm I would try specifying the logical file rather than the physical. Next, you might try playing with the query options file. I would look at the optimization goal (first I/O sounds like what you might want) and statistic limitation first. To try the query options file, copy the qsys version into a development library and specify that library on the chgqrya command.
