I see you have several replies. I just checked in a module to
the iSeries-toolkit at http://iseries-toolkit.sourceforge.net that
supports the QDBRTVFD API. It is a big API and the wrapper
I wrote does not give back the number of records, but you may
get some ideas on how to use this mother of all file APIs. I had
to make some untested changes to this code to get it to fit with
some other APIs I am working on supporting so you might find
a bug or two.
