Booth, I am not using 'F' specs The file is being used in an embedded SQL application Yeh, i know i can do a 'COUNT' in an sql statement, and it may be fine(just not sure). But i'm trying to take into account that i may have very large files. Not sure if there is a performance issue if i do 'select count(*) from filea into :size' -----Original Message----- From: Booth Martin [mailto:booth@MartinVT.com] Sent: Friday, February 08, 2002 1:55 PM To: rpg400-l@midrange.com Subject: Re: QDBRTVFD API -- -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] I keep seeing these sorts of questions where people want to use an API to get information.
