Neither :-) Bind by Reference and Bind by Copy are both a form of Static Binding. Dynamic Binding is where you use a CALL operation (or an EXTPGM on a prototype). i.e. the compiler has no knowledge of what you are calling and all binding must be performed at call time. Static Binding is where you use a CALLB operation (or an EXTPROC on a prototype). i.e. the compiler must have the procedure/module/whatever you are calling available when it goes to create the program. Bind by Reference means the procedure/module you are calling is in a service program. Bind by Copy means that a copy of the module you are calling is included in the generated program.
