R Bruce,

What data type?

In display file DDS, column 35 is not the data type, it is the keyboard shift.
Y means numeric only. N means numeric shift. And S mean Signed numeric. It
does *not* mean zoned decimal, like S in column 35 of a PF/LF.

To quote the first paragraph of the DDS menual under col 35 for a DSPF:

"The entry you make in position 35 is the data type/keyboard shift attribute
for display files. This entry does not determine the data type of the field used
in your program. The entry in positions 36 and 37 (decimal positions) determines
the data type of the field. See DDS Decimal Positions for display files
(Positions 36 and 37)."

So please tell me how/where you made an EXPLICIT INTENT for zoned decimal in
your display file source?

Doug
