In a pure green screen world, not really - however there are things you can do to trick the system (I am assuming you are running an emulator on a PC, otherwise there is no way you can show graphics on a text terminal) You could do some socket programming You could run a PC command from the program to execute a "viewer" with your picture file You could re-write the app in cgi and make it browser based and really open things up You could use visual RPG (IBM's or ASNA's) You could use web-sphere Personally I have only done the pc command and re-write an app in cgi (browser based), the pc command was prone to many forgotten things, no access to shared drives, no viewers on the pc running the app, people resizing the window so it was no longer visible, and people getting annoyed at a window popping up over their as/400 session. Converting to a web app, has been an interesting experience, inquiry programs are easy, interactive stuff took more thought than this old green screener was used to- but it does pick up speed as you understand what you are doing. The only other thing I had done "many" years ago was to use GDDM, but that would only "draw" pictures and graphs, you could not "import" anything, plus you had to have a special terminal, a normal 5250 emulator will not support GDDM. Those are about all I can think of this late in the day - good luck Mark -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:rpg400-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of RWilliams@symatrix.com Sent: Wednesday, January 16, 2002 4:11 PM To: rpg400-l@midrange.com Subject: Graphics on Green screen DDS Does Anyone out there know how to combine a graphic images, (bit maps or jpg's etc.) on a DDS Green screen?
