Does arguing for this count?  When management see a propellerhead objection
the instinctive reaction is to invoke the "it'll never be perfect - it is
good enough!" fiat.  They may even be right from time to time.

I have for experimental reasons, but not yet in production code.  I try to
stay ahead of the business _requirements_ so that when the requirements move
up to a more sophisticated level, I've seen and used some of these
techniques.

I fall in the "a) Understand and use this stuff when required" category,
although I'm not certain how I got there!  Certainly bsearch isn't an answer
to very many business problems I encounter, but there's no question that
reading and trying the new techniques has helped even my traditional coding.
