Doug, <Started this hours ago, but got side-tracked> I tend to agree with what you said, in your prior post. It's not hard to get around the issue, as you said. Now I don't know, for certain, if the debugger can return the value of a function: eval x = user_written_function(y). If it doesn't, then I s'pose it would be consistent to not allow setting of a built-in. But I agree with Joe, this is yet another example of a trend that's been going on... That's what is more troublesome, to me anyway. jt
