PDM do not "retreive" the source file name. It uses the context of the one currently opened. If all you have is the member name, you cannot retreive the corresponding file name because, among other, several member with the same name can exist in multiple source file. If your program is going to be called from PDM (as a user defiened option) you can use the variable &F for the file. If this is not the case, maybe you can derive the file name from the membre name if you have well established standards (Ex: if the member name ends with a R then it is an RPG program in QRPGSRC) Denis Robitaille Directeur services techniques Cascades Inc 819 363 5187 fax 819 363 5177 >>> mohddawoodkhan@hotmail.com 12/27/01 10:22am >>> I'm trying to create a program, where user can enter the member name, & is able to compile the program, If I hardcode the srcfile name, QCLSRC/&mypgm then it works or if user enter qclsrc or any source file/ with member then it works but I want the user to enter only member name like in PDM, we enter opt"14" to compile, at that time sytem already knows it's in which enviroment, so RTVOBJD is not fit here because I'm trying to compile the member >From: Mike.Collins@syan.co.uk >Reply-To: rpg400-l@midrange.com >To: rpg400-l@midrange.com >Subject: Re: API or way to Retrieve SRCPF >Date: Thu, 27 Dec 2001 15:04:30 +0000 >MIME-Version: 1.0 >Received: from [207.224.38.113] by hotmail.com (3.2) with ESMTP id >MHotMailBDF4845E002F4004371FCFE0267184A30; Thu, 27 Dec 2001 07:08:16 -0800 >Received: from linux.midrange.com (localhost [127.0.0.1])by >linux.midrange.com (8.11.6/linuxconf) with ESMTP id fBRF8BF28055;Thu, 27 >Dec 2001 09:08:11 -0600 >Received: from gbsynn10.syan.co.uk (host8.syan.co.uk [213.246.139.8] (may >be forged))by linux.midrange.com (8.11.6/linuxconf) with ESMTP id >fBRF7gF27872for <rpg400-l@midrange.com>; Thu, 27 Dec 2001 09:07:43 -0600 >From rpg400-l-admin@midrange.com Thu, 27 Dec 2001 07:08:51 -0800 >X-Mailer: Lotus Notes Release 5.0.5 September 22, 2000 >Message-ID: <OFBB565049.25A72492-ON80256B2F.0052CC0D@syan.co.uk> >X-MIMETrack: Serialize by Router on GBSYNN10/Syan Ltd(Release 5.0.8 |June >18, 2001) at 27/12/2001 03:06:35 PM >Sender: rpg400-l-admin@midrange.com >Errors-To: rpg400-l-admin@midrange.com >X-BeenThere: rpg400-l@midrange.com >X-Mailman-Version: 2.0.8 >Precedence: bulk >List-Help: <mailto:rpg400-l-request@midrange.com?subject=help> >List-Post: <mailto:rpg400-l@midrange.com> >List-Subscribe: ><http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/rpg400-l>,<mailto:rpg400-l-request@midrange.com?subject=subscribe> >List-Id: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries <rpg400-l.midrange.com> >List-Unsubscribe: ><http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/rpg400-l>,<mailto:rpg400-l-request@midrange.com?subject=unsubscribe> >List-Archive: <http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l/> > > >RTVOBJD? > >_______________________________________________ >This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list >To post a message email: RPG400-L@midrange.com >To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, >visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/rpg400-l >or email: RPG400-L-request@midrange.com >Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives >at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l. > _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com _______________________________________________ This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
