Hi Dare I was trying to keep on topic - RPG ;-) Actually our program produces a printout with member details, which wouldn't be as easy in just CL. Thanks for the offer, though. If I ever end up rewriting it I'd go down the API route for speed over the *outfile solution. One of the reasons I use a logical is to save time building the list of files. It used to run from an outfile built at the weekend, but that missed new files created after it.
