Just yesterday I ran into a program here in which the developer added a
*LIKE DEFN instead of adding another D spec.  Sometimes I feel like a
mackerel trying to turn an aircraft carrier.

Bob, the LIKE'd fields are INT4 and not packed.  :)

As long as you use LIKE (and not *LIKE DEFINE), your LIKE'd fields
have the format of the original.  With *LIKE DEFINE, it depends.  (See
your local RPG manual for all the gruesome details of how *LIKE DEFINE
operates.)
