brought up several times.

Yes, you are correct, the problem is that the variable is numeric and you are
trying to pass that value to a CALL.

CL treats all numerics as 15.5 internally. (all alpha parameters are 32)

My recommendation is to make a CMD for CMBPR4F which will pass parameters 
properly
by your desired definition.
