I do this using FTP and CPYFRMIMPF. FTP the csv file to the AS400. Create
a PF with fields laid out exactly like your CSV. Use the CPYFRMIMPF to move
your FTP file to this PF. It works beautifully, even to the mapping of
decimals.

Subject: Downloading Excel File to Physical File

Hi Everyone. I need to download an excel file into a physical file.
I was
just going to download it to a non-dds file and use it as a program
described file but I thought I would run it by the group. Thanks in
        advance for all your help
