FWIW. We have a module binding directory and a service program directory for each of our systems (Payroll = PayMod & PaySrv, Tax = TaxMod & TaxSrv, etc.) All modules, except *srvpgm modules, are put in the module binding directory and all service programs are put in the service program binding directory. The entry point program has the H spec pointing to the both binding directories and it is compiled using CrtBndRpg. This way, it figures out, at compile time, what it needs. So far, all is working well. When creating service programs, we don't use binding directories.
