RE: Checking for Valid Dates

You can use the TEST opcode with the D extension on any field, as long as
you specify what date format you wish to test for (*ISO, *MDY, *YMD, etc.)
in factor 1.

I thought you could only do a TEST on a field defined in the D spec as a
date field.  The field that I need to check originates in the DDS.  Am I
wrong on this?
