Kathie,
  My mind is gone.  A glance at the S/36 compatible RPG User's Guide &
Reference shows that KRECNO will provide the RRN for a direct file.  Provide
the name of a numeric field that is 7,0 in columns 60-65.

RPG fills this in for you after a READ or CHAIN.
You need to fill this in before an add.

I *think* this works only for direct files; not plain sequential.
