So you will be doing some formatting on the data in order to "export" it?
How will you know how to format each generic field?  Will you have a
separate field for formatting?  I have thought of this sort of thing in
reverse for interpreting binary data coming from a variety of telephone
switches, but it has always seemed too much trouble to write.  (I work for a
software house, and this would be a tool for me, not a salable product.)
