I know this subject has been covered time and again, but I want to run this
past the experts.

We are just starting to implement ILE concepts. We have a mixed bag of ILE
programs and OPM programs. The way we have things set up is as follows.

The initial ILE programs called from the menu are compiled with the
activation group of QILE. All other ILE programs in the job stream are
compiled with ActGrp(*Caller). Now, if an OPM program calls an ILE program
(that is compiled with ActGrpof *caller), will there be a problem?

Now we add overrides. (Yes, I read, and reread, the article in the July
News/400 mag, but things are still as 'clear as wax paper'). I understand
that if we put the override scope at *Job, the override(s) used will be in
effect for all programs called within the job stream.....right? There will
be times that this is not wanted, and for those situations, the override
scope should be *actgrp......right?

How am I doing so far? I thought I had a handle on things at one point in
time, but since then, I've read a few articles and few forum threads and now
I'm doubting myself again. I've read thru the archives, and have gotten
some direction from them, but I would still appreciate some advise on our
sitiuation.

TIA!!
