Well, it all started because SQL wouldn't use the index for a join.

I have two files with the exact same composite index.  The join always
wants to create an index before joining the files.  Any other ideas?

Thanks for the info on indices, you can query Logical Files directly but
not Indices.

You cannont specify indexes directly you need to specify the physical
table.  Let the SQL engine decide which is the best index to use.
