Buck, would PUTOVR/OVRDTA work in the example I am trying to do? If so could you please provide me with an example to resolve this. TIA. Fundamentally, ERRMSG does an implicit PUTOVR just to place the message on the display and not disturb the rest of the screen. If you're not familiar with PUTOVR/OVRDTA, then it's easy to see why ERRMSG appears to be working badly. I hardly ever use ERRMSG (I prefer error message subfiles) but I almost always use PUTOVR. It's a powerful technique to reduce traffic on your network/workstation controller/communication line.
