Actually, I've never named my display files the same name as the RPG
programs anyway. Nor has any application/package I've seen (yet).

Usually display files will have some suffix designating a display file.
I've seen DF, FT, DS and the such.

So a program named AR0310 might use a display file named AR0310DF. It helps
when you are browsing through a library looking for a file (yeah, I know PDA
shows the file type on the right).

Regards,

Jim Langston

If you put both the RPGLE source and the DDS source into the same source
file, then you won't be able to name the display files the same name as the
RPG program. Unless you don't name them the same as the source member when
you compile them, but let's not go there (too ugly).

Ok, now I understand there's no problem with creating Source Physical Files
> 92 for all source member types assuming your tools
can handle them.
My question is, what is the benefit to doing this other than the ability
place DDS, CLP etc. in the same Source Physical File as
your RPGLE?
