RPG IV does not REQUIRE 112 bytes.  The recommendation is for that size so 
you don't lose any right-hand comments on C-specs when you run CVTRPGSRC.  
However, I use 92 byte records for everything including RPG IV because it 
stops people using those stupid right-hand comments that do little more than 
reiterate the code they purport to document.  All the important stuff in RPG 
IV fits into 80 bytes.

If I recall correctly, SEU has a limit of 240 bytes for the maximum record  
length.
