Okay, subfile steps:
1. Clear subfile (set on SFLCLR indicator) and write to the subfile.
2. Load the Subfile
   A. Set your record number SFLRCDNBR to 1 by using field declared in F
spec for subfile file
   B. Load data fields and write record.
   C. Increment record number (SFLRCDNBR field)
   D. Go back to B until all records are written
3. Display the Subfile, make sure SFLCLR is off and SFLDSP is on
(my DFLDSP is usually set to NOT SFLCLR. If SFLCLR is 52, SFLDSP is N52)

I may have missed something, don't have subfile program in front of me to
look at, but I hope this helps.

Regards,

Jim Langston

Hi all,

I have just started programming subfiles (using RPG
IV)and I am getting a little problem: The pgm writes
some information to the subfile records
e.g
C* write something to a field of the subfile record
C movel 'XXXX' sfld1
C* write the subfile record
C write SFL
C* The above 2 instructions are repeated a few times
C* just to fill a few subfile records
C*
C* read/write the subfile ctl
C* write SFLCTL

However the screen displays a blank subfile :
------------------------------------

--- -------------
--- -------------
--- -------------
--- -------------
--- -------------
--- -------------
--- -------------

------------------------------------

I am sure that there is something obvious (to all of
you experienced RPG programmers) that I am missing but
I have been battling with this simple problem for
almost 1 day without success. Any help please?

TIA
