DDM does not handle SQL.  You'll have to use DRDA to connect to a remote system.  Which means you have to go through all the steps of setting up a DRDA connection (relational db needs to be defined, etc).

Try  CONNECT TO OTHER_AS400  from the SQL, and then you can use the files in the other as400 as if they where in your local  AS.
