Hello Joel,

ERRMSG and ERRMSGID use PUTOVR, OVRATR, and OVRDTA under the covers. That
means the record format for which they are active MUST currently be on the
display. Check that you are not writing another record format to the display
between writing the prompt screen, setting on the error indicator, and
rewriting the prompt screen. The system probably thinks the record format
with the 'email' field is not currently active thus the ERRMSGID is ignored.

The use of PUTOVR, OVRATR, and OVRDTA is done to reduce the amount of data
sent to the device but they have a number of side effects. The most obvious
is that they are ignored if the record format for which they are in effect is
not currently on the display. Thus you cannot turn on an ERRMSG/ERRMSGID
indicator and expect the message to display on the first write of the format.

Regards,
Simon Coulter.
