%REPLACE- WHATS WRONG -- RPG400-L

Does anyone see what is wrong with this?  i am getting a Reciever to small
error on this statement.

 C                   EVAL      #UMAD3  = %REPLACE(' ':               
 C                                                 UMAD3:            
 C                                                 %SCAN(',':UMAD3)) 

 
#UMAD3 is defined as the same size as UMAD3.  

basically what i want to do is scan UMAD3 and replace any ',' with ' '
