I asked that exact same question one day when I was in a class for DDS programming. Apparently the CAxx keys will return just the fact that that key was pressed, and nothing else. Apparently back in the days of the S36 it was much faster to just set on one indicator and ignore the others than to set all the indicators. So, if you were setting up an exit key (such as F7) you would code it as CA07 because you didn't care the least bit about any of the other information because you were exiting anyway, and this would speed up the exiting of the screen. My problem is not that I don't know the difference between CFxx and CAxx but just remembering which is which (now, is it CA that hoses my program, or CF?) I've been bitten by it too when maintaining other people's code. +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
