I too, agree we are getting too many non RPG questions here.
Caveat: CPYTOPCD assumes that the final product should be able to be found
on a green screen using WRKFLR or WRKDOC. If, however, you will have to
use WRKLNK then you'll have to use some other command like CPYTOIMPF or
CPYTOSTMF. This is an IFS issue. For example WRKLNK should show you:
Object link Type Attribute Text
dev DIR
etc DIR
home DIR
...
QCA400 DIR
QDLS DIR Shared folders (see also WRKFLR and
WRKDOC)
QFileSvr.400 DIR
QFPNWSSTG DIR
QIBM DIR

It is quite simple just type CPYTOPCD FROMFILE(&FILE) TOFLR(IBM) , &File
is the name of your file.
You must have the relevant access to folder IBM, to check this type WRKFLR
on command line on AS400, IBM should display, if not it does not exist or
you do not have access, and will require access to be granted. Note you
also
need a directory entry to use folders from AS400 (ADDDIRE)

If it dislays the authority can be checked using option 14, also if option
5
is used you should be able to see the file, after the command has been run.

Hope this helps, you may do bette posting these sort of things on the
midrange-l, as it is not really an RPG issue.

Hope this helps

Just Use 'IBM', the drive letter E: is just used on your PC, I assume
mapped, as a network drive to the AS400 IFS QDLS

Subject: CPYTOPCD command

Hi family,

Have been trying to copy a Physical File to a PC folder, with CPYTOPCD
command, but I
wonder how to give TOFLR parameter. Have tried different combinations,
"E:/IBM" , "/IBM"
etc. every time message appears that "Folder E:/IBM not found" . (Have one
folder on
drive "E" with "IBM" name.

Could some body tell me how to overcome to this problem, any help would be
appreciated.

Thanx

Ahmed Hussain
