Hi group,

I hope this question is not off-topic, but I cannot seem to find any decent
information on the 'net, so I thought I'd ask the pros.

I want to start developing a small application (invoicing, stock control,
customer control etc) for my father's company.

As RPG is the only programming language I master, I wanted to create the
application with RPG.

However, my father does not have an AS/400, so I looked for PC solutions using
RPG.

As far as I can make out from the info on IBM's site, VARPG will create Java
runtime code that can be used on Windows.

My question is (finally ...): can VARPG be used _without_ an AS/400?

Thanks for any info you can give me.

Peter Colpaert
