this has been a problem forever on the 400 (maybe 38 too). IBM uses some compression routine on sbmjob.Put a single non-blank char at the end of the parm (which stops the compression). I have never heard a reasonable answer as to why ibm can't/won't fix this. It's a bug! jim ----- Original Message ----- From: "bill totz" <robsurge@hotmail.com> To: <RPG400-L@midrange.com> Sent: Tuesday, April 17, 2001 8:35 AM Subject: Parm Issues > Problem: > CL Program calls another pgm with 3 parms. > When processed interactively, its OK > > *----------------------------------------* > Query Selections 256bytes (PARM 1): > (MUFLD = %Values(040101 040201 040301 040401 040501 040601 040701 > 040801 040901 041001 041101 041201 041301 041401 041501 041601))!! > > Character End Date (Parm 2): > 04/16/2001 > Character Begin Date (Parm 3): > 04/01/2001 > *----------------------------------------* > > When submitted to batch, the 256byte parm has correct data for the > first 131 characters but the remaining portion has garbage, > Whats up with this? > > *-------- Arrival to Batch Pgm -----------* > Query Selections 256bytes (PARM 1): > (MUFLD = %Values(040101 040201 040301 040401 040501 040601 040701 > 040801 040901 041001 041101 041201 041301 041401 041501 041601))!! > MSG061CLf PARMØ Ý E 04/01/2001E 04/16/2001E e(MUDA > TE = %Values(040101 040201 040301 040401 040501 0406 > (This is exactly as it appears!) > Character End Date (Parm 2): > 04/16/2001 > Character Begin Date (Parm 3): > 04/01/2001 > *-------- Arrival to Batch Pgm -----------* > > Whats up with this? > > _________________________________________________________________ > Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com > > +--- > | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! > | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. > | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. > | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. > | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com > +--- +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
