I use a compiled help file on network server and access th appropriate "page" from the AS/400 when function key pressed using RUNRMTCMD. (over TCP/IP network) It does have some "security issues" - (allowing user to access PC from AS/400) but it works quite well. I assume you could do same either by using runrmtcmd (" ... word.exe .../docs/doc1.doc") where the document is sensitive to where you are in application. In fact it might be better to use wordview, to only allow read only view - probably open faster too Let me know if you want more info Tony -----Original Message----- From: owner-rpg400-l@midrange.com [mailto:owner-rpg400-l@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Jade Richtsmeier Sent: 12 April 2001 14:48 To: RPG400-L@midrange.com Subject: Help function Hello, Our HelpDesk person asked me the other day if there was a way to type Help Text into a Word document, and then access that document from the 400 when a user presses a function key (such as F1=Help)? If I remember right, this was an option using OfficeVision, but I can't remember if or how this is done using a Word Document. Has anyone done this sort of thing, and if so, what have you used?
