Rolf, it looks like this is the best of all worlds :)

As long as your trigger is not running in the default
activation group, you can register an activation group exit
procedure to get called when the activation group ends
(see CEE4RAGE).  If that procedure is in the same service
program it can access the static storage of the service
program.
