Walter, >I would like to know a way to calculate the cube root of a number. We are on >V4R4. Eval(H) CubeRoot = Value ** (1/3) Note that use of ** causes the result to be a floating point number, so it is best to use (H) half-adujst on the Eval if the result field (CubeRoot) is not also a float field. If you want the above to be part of another expression, you can force the conversion from float back to packed decimal as part of the operation as in: Eval Result = FieldA * ( %DECH( Value ** (1/3): 15: 5 ) + FieldB ) Doug +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
