It's really hair splitting, but some people use RPG400 to mean the string
handling enhancements added to RPGIII in v2r1 (I may be wrong about the
exact version because it was before my time, but it was in v2 something.)  I
don't believe there's an official definition for RPG400.  

ILE RPG is a misnomer that you can see in the titles of IBM manuals for
RPGIV, among other places.  This semantic stuff is confusing, and can be the
cause of religious warfare.  

I try to stick to "RPG" and avoid situations where I have to distinguish
among the various flavors.  Then everyone can think they know what I mean.
<g>  I believe "II," "III," and "IV" are the only "real" flavors, but I've
been wrong before.
