Gerald,

The only bits of RPG 3 that were dropped were the DUMP and FREE operations.
RPG IV is less tolerent of putting invalid data in data types.

Look to the Red Book (Sorcerers Guide) for details of style guidelines.

You might also find my book "Re-Engineering RPG IV Legacy Applications" of some
benefit :-).
