There's nothing wrong with taking the initiative and teaching yourself. There are plenty of tools available. There are a lot of free tutorials on the internet, such as ibm's IBE stuff. And you can practice what you learn very inexpensively with an account at netshare400.com. You can buy a book from time to time. Read, Read, Read. It's what I do.
