Try CHGJOB STSMSG(*NONE) before the command and put it back
after.

                Subject: Suppressing QMQRY interactive message
displayed

                Hi All,

I am using SQL to populate a file interactively and I would
like to suppress
the message that appears as the SQL statement is executed so
the user will
not be aware that the SQL is executing. The reason I desire
to suppress
this message is that I believe that its display is causing
some problems for
earlier versions of EPClient and I need to circumvent this
problem. I am
aware that the user will experience a few moments where the
system is
inhibited and that the SQL message my give some comfort to
them in seeing
that a process is in progress but I am willing to forego
this indulgence in
                order to accomplish my goal.

The interactive message displayed is formatted as: "Query
running. 1480
                records selected, 425527 processed."

The statement used to execute the SQL statement is: STRQMQRY
                QMQRY(KIP115Q) SETVAR((FRDATE &FRDATE) (TODATE &TODATE))

The SQL statement is: INSERT INTO QTEMP/HSF001W SELECT *
FROM HSF001N2 WHERE
                HSDATE > &FRDATE AND HSDATE < &TODATE

                Any help is greatly appreciated.

                Thanks.
                        Matt Laskosky
