Several folks were worried about "dot notation" for naming source members:
>Be wary of your dot notation. Consider trying to FTP the F.DATE module.
Name format 1 works fine, i.e. /qsys.lib/mylib.lib/qrpgsrc.file/f.date.mbr
>It will also cause problems if you ever need to access it via SQL. The
copy
>stream file commands will probably not like it either. We have a software
>vendor who used "." in their library names and it has made life difficult.
Stream file works just like ftp: CPYTOSTMF
FROMMBR('/qsys.lib/buck.lib/qrpglefdn.file/c2n.con.mbr') TOSTMF(c2n)
In SQL you'll need to wrap the "special" name in double quotes: select *
from "BUCK.T"/master Also, be aware that upper case makes a difference...
