Dale, >%editc is in the V3R7 compiler but not V3R2? I thought V3R2 & V3R7 were >identical versions except for the CISC & RISC factor? Apparently not! Not quite. V3R2 and V3R7 are parity releases for OS functions, but the compiler parity is between V3R2 and V3R6 (all the compilers, not just RPG). Since V3R7 is where %editc/%editw were added (along with numerous other things), they do not exist at V3R2. OTOH, changes to OS/400 such as CHGPF SRCFILE() or ADDPFTRG ALWREPCHG(*YES) happened at both V3R2 and V3R7. > I've had no luck finding these. Try the "OS/400 Edit Function APIs" manual, which is online at: V3R2: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr/BOOKS/QBJAMH00/CCONTENTS V4R4: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr/BOOKS/QB3AMH03/CCONTENTS and other release exist too. I highly recommend the index to IBM's books maintainted by AS400Network (i.e. News/400) at http://www.as400network.com/index400/ I usually find it much easier to navigate than IBM's own site. >Does anyone have working code using these APIs or, at least, >can anyone point me to the proper reference? You may want to start with some code snippets IBM publishes at http://www.as400.ibm.com/tstudio/workshop/snippets/snippet1.htm then select RPG Source for the programming language. Among other things it will have samples for XXXEDTCOD and XXXEDTWRD, which will do what you want. >(One problem I have is that I've got V3R2, but no manuals or softcopy for it. But you obviously have internet access, since you posted to this forum. <g> All the V3R2 manuals are also available online. Try the index I referenced above.
