Howdy, I've got a screen behavior that I just can't figure out so I'm asking for some help. I've cleaning up a WRKxxxx program used by order entry and it's got the following screen components: SIWRKHDR - screen headings, lines 1 & 2 SIWRKCTL - subfile control, lines 3 -> 9 SIWRKSFL - subfile detail, lines 10 -> 20 CMDDSP - function key display, lines 21 - 23 ERRSFL - error message subfile, line 24 SIWRKEDT - edit panel for making changes, lines 5 -> 21 Normally I would put SIWRKEDT into a window, but because of the amount of data I'm using a record instead. The processing loop is: (ignore spacing) EXIT$ DOWNE 'Y' WRITE SIWRKHDR WRITE CMDDSP WRITE ERRSFL EXFMT SIWRKCTL 90 STATUS CASEQ 00002 $CFKEY CAS $ENTER END ENDDO Now the first time it goes through this loop, it displays just the way I want it. I take an option on a detail line, subroutine $ENTER is called and panel SIWRKEDT is displayed and processed. The the program returns to this loop but the SIWRKHDR and CMDDSP is not shown. I put a FRCDTA on the panels and can see that they are in fact being written, but the EXFMT SIWRKCTL clears the screen. All panels except SIWRKHDR have the OVERLAY keyword. Now if I press ENTER, with no detail options selected, and the loop is processed again, it shows correctly. In other words, routine $ENTER is run and the READC loop within it does not find any changed records and therefore SIWRKEDT panel is not displayed. I know for sure that the SIWRKHDR is being written, but why does the SFLCTL clear the screen only after SIWRKEDT has appeared?
